Terms & Conditions

All drivers must be between 25-75 years old and hold a full valid UK/EU licence for a minimum of 2 years, with no major driving offences or disqualifications in the past 4 years – Allowances can be made for minor endorsements (please contact us for details).

• Valid Photo Driving licence
• Licence check code
• Proof of address no less than 2 months old (utility bill, bank statement, tenancy agreement)
• Visa Card or Mastercard for £300 Deposit

A holding deposit of £300 is required on commencement of hire that would be refunded on.

The hirer is provided with insurance. The hirer is liable for the £1500 of any cost for damages.

Hire charges and deposit are required in full before commencement of hire. Prepaid bookings require 2 working days notice of cancellation or fees will be forfeited (BOX VANS bookings require 5 working days notice of cancellation or fees will be forfeited). Cancellations must be made in writing and sent to accounts@ajvanhire.com

Vans are to be collected after 07.30 and are due for return before 07.30 on the day of return, it is possible to return vehicles out of hours before end of hire. We ask to be notified immediately of any extension of rentals or late returns.

If the hired vehicle is returned out of office hours, the hirer is responsible for the vehicle until the next working day.

Unlimited Mileage, AA/RAC recovery, Insurance (subject to conditions).

Hirer to put in fuel as required, Vans to be returned with same amount of fuel as at start of hire. We work on a full to full policy to make your journey smoother.

Only the hirer and drivers approved at the time of hire are permitted to drive the vehicle. The hired vehicle must not be taken outside the UK mainland.

All rentals are subject to terms and conditions specified in the rental agreement.

In the unlikely event of a breakdown or accident all vehicles are covered by Roadside Recovery and Home Start services. Your first point of contact must always be AJ Van Hire Limited. We are contactable via our office telephone number (01296 336655) 24 hours a day and we will organise the quickest solution for you

We aim to provide the make and model as described – we however cannot guarantee that you will receive the Make and Model requested but you will be provided with a similar vehicle within the same class.

1. Return the vehicle in a reasonable condition (valeting charges may apply) – smoking is not permitted
2. Return the vehicle with the same fuel as it had when your hire started (charges may apply)
3. All online bookings are strictly non-refundable!
4. Pay all congestion charges, traffic, parking or other offences and penalty charges. Admin fees will apply if received by us. Your nominated card will automatically be charged
5. We have a NO DOG policy in our vehicles
6. By hiring from us you agree to your data being shared with third parties such as the Police, DVLA, Insurers and other rental companies

The Hirer is responsible for checking water, oil levels and tyre pressures daily.

You may drive our vehicles using you own company’s fleet insurance cover, provided we have approved this in advance. In this event, only the restrictions of your own insurance will apply. It may be worth noting that you will attract cheaper rates when providing your own insurance. Ask our rental staff for details.

Delivery and collection is £25inc VAT within a 7 mile radios. Please call in for a quote if you are out of the delivery zone
